Education
The Museo Larco is a space which seeks to inspire its visitors to connect with the museum’s collection and the history of ancient Peru. Through its exhibitions, educational initiatives, public programs and events, the Museo Larco offers enjoyable, attractive and enriching experiences.

Daily Visits

Enjoy an inspiring journey of discovery through the cultures of ancient Peru, in the company of our museum educators. We offer daily visits in Spanish and English, at set times.

The capacity is 12 people per group and spots will be covered on a first-come first-served basis. Payment for this service is per person, in addition to the entrance fee to the museum.

Schools

The Museo Larco has designed thematic interactive educational programs for students at all levels of schooling: kindergarten, elementary and secondary. All bookings must be made in advance.

A minimum of 10 and maximum of 40 students can be accommodated for each visit.

Seniors

Designed for seniors, the “Role Play in Ancient Peru” program aims to teach visitors about the different roles and duties performed by ancient Peruvians.

Advance booking is required for this program (subject to the availability of museum educators).

Visitors with Special Needs

The Museo Larco is an accessible space, offering specially designed programs for audiences with special physical and/or intellectual abilities. In addition, the museum’s education department can design a visit tailored to the interests and needs of groups. All such visits must be booked in advance.

    Aimed at blind and visually impaired persons.
  • Exploring the Animals and Fruits of the Museum
    Aimed at children aged 3 to 6 years with different abilities (autism spectrum, cognitive impairment, Down syndrome).
  • Ancient Peru Through Images
    Aimed at people with hearing impairment.

Universities and Institutes

Free Visits
Groups of students from Peruvian universities and institutes can visit the Museo Larco independently and free of charge, accompanied by their teachers. These visits can be scheduled from March to December, from Tuesday to Thursday after 6:00 p.m., for groups of no more than 20 persons. All such visits must be booked at least one week in advance.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Internships

Undergraduate and postgraduate students who would like to apply for an internship at the museum should send their CV to [email protected], including the subject line “Internship at the Museo Larco”.

Research on the Collection

Over the next months and until further notice, physical access to the collections of the Museo Larco will be restricted due to internal processes of registration, inventory and conservation.

Undergraduate and postgraduate students who would like to request images of the Museo Larco collection, visit the permanent exhibition or visible storage as part of a research project, should contact the museum’s Chief Curator ([email protected]).
