Anal sex was depicted by several pre-Columbian societies. It is interesting to observe how the pottery makers of ancient Peru skillfully incorporated representations of the male body penetrating the female body into the main bodies, handles and spouts of the bottles they made. In almost every example, there appears to be an intention to connect the sexual act with the route via which the liquid flows through the vessel.
